I am always hesitant to post on holidays. Probably something to look at with one of my angel people. Today is a day of remembrance and also a day when many join together for traditions. Relief and refresh of a rare three day weekend. Neighbors and pools. Concerts and baseball. Menus and planting.
I spoke with one of my favorite voices today who got teary as she recalled hearing “America the Beautiful” with a brass ensemble at church yesterday. And another friend …who is grateful for the gift of being an American and the freedom that comes with it. What freedom means. And because I have lived it my entire life, I know I take it for granted even with my intentions not to.
Words seem inadequate, and yet silence seems more so. Thank you to all that have served to provide this amazing life. And thank you to their families that also serve by their side, from great distances, where time and space are hard and relevant. I remember those that have made the ultimate sacrifice and those who love them by pause with thanksgiving. “Be still and know…”
