Greetings and goodwill to you. I need a theme song wake up call to start out this week. Proactively, I am planting it right here on my blog. Needing a bit of morning juju shift as the summer schedule and post surgery healing definitely include some wiggle room. Later nights and later mornings. There is a fine line always for me between rigidity and discipline. My people may be tired of hearing about it. I ran into a friend at the grocery store tonight who was off on a spontaneous music festival outing this weekend. There is something magical about the spark of a last minute plan and energy. Go with the flow and trust the plan as it unfolds. Just say yes. The details will come together. “Get Out the Map”, as the Indigo Girls so perfectly sing. And then there is the visionary road map, calendar, and grocery list somewhat necessary not only for commitment and structure, but for dreaming. setting goals, creating momentum, and something for dinner.
A night owl at heart, I found myself in the bakery business needing to shift from late nights to early mornings. And now I continue to love the quiet part of the day just before the sunrise (quite early these days at this longitude and latitude). I have a morning routine which requires some time and somehow opens up the remainder of the day in a lovely way. This photo happens to come from my favorite local bakery (one of them…) Oh there are more, signs, that is. I’ll save them for other days. If you find yourself in Brookline or Boston, Clear Flour Bakery is a must. These days a shift in my morning enthusiasm and energy is also.
My inner preschool teacher sings a song with this line. It’s simple and happy and definitely more fun when there are enthusiastic 4 year olds belting it out with you. I’m always up for a sing along.
Happy Monday. And for those of you on vacation who don’t care what day it is…. rock on. And for those of you who are shifting gears with me…we’ve got this. New day. New week. This is the day.
